III. Deleting Multiple Lists Simultaneously

Introduction

There are a couple of ways that lists can be deleted from SpitFire Dialers that are using the Pro (MySQL) version of the SpitFire software.
Using ListMaker Pro, you can delete lists one at a time with the Delete List function. Or you can delete lists in groups using MySQL Query Browser.

To begin with, lets list a few items that you should aware of BEFORE deleting lists:

1. Make sure you are not deleting a list that is being dialed at that moment.
2. Deleting Lists with ListMaker or MySQL Query Browser is permanent. The lists cannot be restored.
3. In the SpitFire Predictive software, deleting lists will not delete the SPD WebReport statistics for that list. The list name and stats will remain in the SPD WebReports.
4. Deleting lists that have been used in the SpitFire Predictive software may delete records that were scheduled for Callback by the Agents. If this is the case, the Callback records will not be called back. Check the Callback Manager in ListMaker to see if there are any pending callbacks for the list(s) you want to delete.

Deleting Lists with ListMaker Pro

1. Open ListMaker from the icon on the Desktop.

2. Next click on Lists-->Delete List.

3. Click on the List you want to delete and click Open. You can only select one list to delete at a time from this window.

Do not delete the list by just right-clicking on the ini file and clicking delete or by hitting the DELETE button on your keyboard.

This will not actually delete the list, just the ini file and that file will be recreated the next time you go to open a list.

4. After you click Open, click Yes when it asks to confirm that you want to delete the list.

5.Then you will see the confirmation show in the Status bar of ListMaker Pro.

The list has now been deleted. Repeat the steps for any other lists you want to delete.

Deleting Multiple Lists Simultaneously

If you have many lists that you want to delete and prefer to not have to delete them one at a time with ListMaker, another option is to use MySQL Query browser.
Again, this is a permanent action and cannot be undone so please be very careful when deleting lists this way as well.

1. First open MySQL Query Browser from the shortcut on the Desktop or from the Start menu under Start-->Programs-->MySQL-->MySQL Query Browser.

2. Type in the MySQL Database credentials to connect to the Database.

Here are the settings for most Dialers. Make sure you are doing this from the Database Server itself. In most cases, the Dialer is also the Database Server.
Server Host: localhost
Username: root
password: password
Default Schema: [blank]

3. Click OK to open the MySQL Query Browser.

4. Select the list you want to delete from the right-hand side panel.

5. If you want to delete a group of lists, then click on the first list name, hold your SHIFT button on your keyboard and click on the last list name you want to delete.

In this example, we clicked on the badnumbertest list first, held down the SHIFT button and then clicked on demo list.

6. Next right click anywhere on the selected lists and click on Drop Schema.

7. If you want to delete multiple lists that are not in order, you can use CTRL+Click instead of SHIFT+Click. Hold your CTRL button on your keyboard while you click on the names of the lists you want to delete.

8. Then right click on any of the selected list names and click Drop Schema.

9. Next MySQL Query Browser will want to make sure that you are positive that you want to delete the lists selected. If you are, then click OK for each message that pops up. If you are deleting several lists, you will have to click OK several times.

10. After clicking OK, the lists will be deleted.

11. You can then close MySQL Query browser.
